I'm Dr. Matt (that's me in the video just below). I'm a physical therapist, best-selling author, and the owner of Village Fitness and Physical Therapy here in Downtown Glendora.
What do I know about losing weight and being active without pain? Not only have I coached thousands of people through their own transformations, but I've gone on the journey myself.
I started my first diet at age 11. Remember Slimfast? Yeah, did that. I talked my mom into buying me one of those giant 5-pound tubs at Costco. Two weeks later, I had lost 11 pounds. 1. Small Group Training Sessions
Sessions are 50-minutes long and comprise everything you need to get an amazing workout that is appropriate for YOU.
Sessions focus chiefly on our 12 Village Movement Standards: the 12 MOST important movements for people 50+ to be strong, healthy, and lean for decades to come.
Most folks come in for sessions 2-3 days per week. Sessions are 8 people or less and led by 1 of our amazing coaches or Dr.'s of physical therapy
Sessions start as early as 5am and end as late as 7:30pm Monday-Friday and we even have sessions on Saturday's!
2. Step-By-Step Nutrition Coaching
When you start out at Village, you'll be assigned a coach to walk you through our nutrition coaching program. Thier job is to guide you through each of our three phases of nutrition coaching. You'll be handed a nutrition coaching card (pictured below) and an accompanying guide to walk you through the card. The cards are designed to optimize your metabolism for burning fat for fuel and to equip you with the neccesary skills to eat food in a way that communicates well with your body.

FOCUS | During sessions, we start with a few minutes of warm up
STANDARDS | This is the majority of each session. Here we go through a few of our Village Movement Standards, the 12 most important movements that all humans need in place in their lives to maximize their health potential
CORE | We spend time in EVERY session hitting core strength to build a strong, toned, lean core that supports your spine and keeps you feeling great!
APEX | This is the high intensity conditioning part of each workout. You need to work really hard, but not for very long.
WIND DOWN | Stretching, breathing, and some mindset work cap off each session.
